Second Congregational Church is grounded in the biblical ideals of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference, which are expressed by the Mission Statement of the Church Multiplication Task Force; “To provide, to the glory of God, a fellowship of diverse, evangelical, congregationally-governed churches that are committed to worship, nurture and outreach.” The Task Force also enumerated six core values with which we wholeheartedly agree; “Delight in God’s glory; Passion for the lost; Commitment to truth and obedience; Love for the Church; Congregational polity; and Unity with diversity.”

Both “heresy on the left” and “heresy on the right” (that is, both lawlessness and legalism) have plagued Christ’s church for centuries, and while no church is flawless this side of heaven, Second Congregational continually seeks to avoid these extremes by abiding in Christ, being filled with the Spirit, and making disciples the “old-fashioned” way; through long term, relational ministry. In fact, that is the proper definition of a “mainline” church! Come and join us if you share this biblical vision.
