Interm Minister

       Pastor Williams was born and raised in Selden, Maine, in the southern part of Aroostook County. He is the fourth of five sons born to Floyd and Leola Williams. He is a graduate of Houghton College, Houghton, New York; the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (now Palmer Theological Seminary), In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; did graduate work at Boston University School of Theology and received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, New Jersey. Pastor Williams became the student pastor of a church in south Philadelphia in the spring of his first year of seminary - 1955. He was ordained on May 22, 1958.

     MaryJane was born and raised in Glenolden, Pennsylvania - a suburb of Philadelphia. She spent some of her growing up years in New Jersey. MaryJane is the second of three children born to Ernest and Mary Orme. MaryJane received her nursing training at Chester Hospital, in Chester, Pennsylvania and did her operating room technician training at the West Reading Hospital, in Reading, Pennsylvania. She received her certification in Christian ministry from the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

     Pastor Williams and MaryJane were married on June 1, 1957. They have served churches in Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts and California. In three of the churches they served, MaryJane served as a member of the church staff as the Minister of Christian Education. In all the churches they have served, MaryJane has been active in Christian Education, in women's ministries, in counseling, in church programming. Pastor Williams and MaryJane are the parents of two adult children. They have four grandchildren. Both families live in the Portland area.

     Pastor Williams and MaryJane live in Winterport. They are looking forward to their time of interim ministry with the church family of the Second Congregational Church of Brewer, and are deeply grateful for the privilege of this ministry. In addition to their ministry with the Second Congregational Church, Pastor Williams serves as an Area Minister and as the Director of the Institute for Ministry for the American Baptist Churches of Maine. MaryJane currently serves as a Christian Education specialist for the American Baptist Churches, USA.
